explores novel mechanisms, next-gen drug-developing strategies
he Korea Drug Development Fund held the “2025 KDDF Science Conference” at the Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, from last Thursday to Saturday.
The conference is a participatory academic event hosted by the KDDF, where all participants took on various roles, including chairpersons, oral presenters, and poster presenters. Beginning in 2021 with themes such as mRNA, vaccines, and drug delivery, the event has continued annually, covering the latest issues in new drug development, including immuno-based therapy, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and new modalities, reaching its fifth year this year.

This year's theme, “Advancing Next-Generation Drug Development through Novel Mechanisms and AI-Driven Technologies,” focused on next-generation drug development strategies amid the industry's transformation driven by novel mechanisms like cell and gene therapies, targeted protein degradation therapies, and AI-based technologies.
Sessions and poster presentations were organized into four tracks: Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD), Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, and AI and Data Science. Participants presented diverse research outcomes, exchanged mutual feedback, and explored potential collaborative research opportunities. Academic exchanges continued late into the evening.
