President Dongho Lee, Korea Drug Development Fund (herein KDDF) will deliver a keynote speech at the “Healthcare Innovation Seminar 2012” sponsored by AMCHAM, with a theme ‘New Effort in Korea to Promote Innovation’.

 

The AMCHAM Seminar is to be held at the Seoul JW Marriott Hotel on July 11th, with a theme ‘Toward a New Era of Collaboration & Innovation’, where Mr. Chae-min Lim, Minister of Health & Welfare, H.E. Sung Kim, American Ambassador to Korea, Ms. Amy Jackson, President of AMCHAM, and Dongho Lee, President of KDDF, will participate.

 

In his keynote speech, President Dongho Lee will highlight the increased possibilities of new drug development related to increased levels of government support.

 

President Lee said, “After liberation from colonial rule, in line with industrial development in Korea, government support has expanded to achieve innovation in the health care industry, including new drug development.” He added, “The path on which Korea needs to move forward is based on foreign examples such as the US and Israel”.

 

In addition, at this seminar, various issues will be discussed, such as the necessity to have a step capable of introducing new, innovative products in today’s global market, related to various healthcare industry issues determined by the Korean government to be one of the new growth engines. Also,case studies of foreign medicine innovation, with examples from Australia, Japan, Germany, and others, will be presented at the session ‘Public-Private Discussions to Promote Sustainability of the Healthcare System.
